Graduate Teaching Associate and Research Assistant Positions

NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS:

We are currently working to evaluate and improve our program. During this time, the M.S. in Kinesiology degree program will not be accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Please check back in the future for further updates.

 

All applicants are encouraged to apply for Graduate Teaching Associate and Graduate Research Assistant Positions. All applications and two recommendation forms should be mailed directly to the Kinesiology Graduate Program Coordinator.

Graduate Teaching Associates

Part-time Graduate Teaching Associate positions are available (pending available funding) for students enrolled in the graduate program in Kinesiology. Positions are awarded on a competitive basis and dependent upon the staffing needs of the department. Graduate Teaching Associates serve as instructors for undergraduate lab classes and physical activity classes. All applications and two recommendation forms should be mailed directly to the Kinesiology Graduate Program Coordinator.

Note: A Graduate Teaching Associate position does NOT provide a tuition/fee waiver NOR does it provide a waiver of out-of-state fees.

Graduate Research Assistants

Part-time Graduate Research Assistant positions are available (pending available funding) for students enrolled in the graduate program in Kinesiology. Positions are awarded on a competitive basis and dependent upon the staffing needs of the on-going research projects. Graduate Research Assistants are trained and supervised by faculty members and may serve on a variety of different research projects or STRIDE programs. Duties may include serving as a project manager for STRIDE, data collection, data management and analysis, literature reviews, public relations, program implementation for community based obesity/chronic disease prevention programs, focus groups, and community outreach activities.

Note: A Graduate Research Assistant position does NOT provide a tuition/fee waiver NOR does it provide a waiver of out-of-state fees.

To apply for a Graduate Research Assistant Position please submit a cover letter and a resume that includes contact information for references. In the cover letter please speak to your qualifications as a research assistant, such as previous research experience, communication skills, languages spoken fluently, organizational skills, ability to work independently or as a member of a team, etc.
