"If there’s one thing you won’t waste your money on, it’s traveling, travel the world. See another place; discover a different point of view. Traveling is the antidote to ignorance, it changes your mind, your perspective, how you believe, what you believe." – Trevor Noah

Research and Interests
My research has involved leading projects that examine how various social determinants (e.g., discrimination, work, health access) affect health and identify structural solutions in partnership with communities to address health inequities. In addition, I also study cultural beliefs, implicit bias, and health disparities that impact the preconception period of a woman’s life. I am particularly interested in the effects of culture and health decisions among marginalized populations.
